State owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in association with Shyam Networks will be launching a 3G Wi Fi Router, Winket MF 50 on July 3, 2012. The Wi Fi Router will be launched with attractive data plans to boost the uptake of its 3G services.

The spokesperson for BSNL said, “3G WiFi Router, Winknet MF 50, will be made available from tomorrow at all the BSNL stores for Rs 5,800. It will come bundled with attractive data plans that BSNL will announce tomorrow.” The new Winket MF 50, is a 3G pocket router and will convert the data signal connection to Wi Fi, which creates a Wi Fi Hot Spot.

This hot spot can be used by minimum five users simultaneously for connecting Wi Fi enabled devices like laptops, phones and personal computers. But this is not the first time the companies have joined hands for consumer products.

A few months back the state owned telecom company and Shyam Networks launched the 3G data card Winknet in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It was launched for ₹1,900 and it also supported 2G connection. The Winknet also had a download speed of 7.2 mbps and 5.76 mbps upload speed.
