Japanese based tech giant Sony Corp said on November 8, 2012, that music by Japanese artists will now be available on Apple’s iTunes store. The latest move has been taken by the company in an apparent strategy shift by Japanese firms to cash in on the rising demand for online music.
In terms of the portable music player market, Sony competes with Apple’s iPod and iPhone. The company said that its copyright Japanese language songs have been made available for sale on iTunes from this week. In the past, Sony has allowed songs from western artists to be sold on Apple’s online store, but only after keeping them away from Apple for many years.
