Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was roped in by TVS Motors to be their brand ambassador after her movie ‘Cocktail’ was released. Many agree that the actress would be the perfect face for the company, as she played the role of Veronica in the movie, who is a free spirited girl.

Sources from the industry said that the actress signed the deal for a huge amount which has not been disclosed. After the ads of the brand went on air, sales of the bike went up by nearly 20 percent. Deepika’s spokesperson said, “When the brand shared their research, we were also pleasantly surprised with the results. It only goes to show that everyone has loved her performance in Cocktail and has identified with the character.”

Sources from the industry have also said that the company now plans on introducing the Veronica series of bikes, where the actress’ character will be seen dealing with different kinds of situations. The ads will be similar to the roles that Aamir Khan plays in the Coca Cola ads, where he is seen in different characters.

The recent hike in sales is a huge deal for the actress and the brand as well, which points to the fact that Deepika’s fan-base has the power to influence branding as well.
