Bollywood legend Asha Bhosle has reportedly requested Indian cricketing stalwart Sachin Tendulkar to launch the music for her acting debut ‘Mai’. Tendulkar and Bhosle share a good relationship and it was the singer’s idea to call on the master Indian batsman to launch the music for her movie. Asha has been a household name in the Indian film industry for a while now and she has built a career on delivering hit after hit in the highly competitive Indian music market.
Tendulkar is now in the twilight of his illustrious career which has spanned over two decades. The record-breaking cricketer is now showing interest in other avenues of society such as music and politics. He has a tremendous fan-following in India and the rest of the world as well. This fact is not taken lightly by producers, who look to cash in on the star’s popularity.
The director of ‘Mai’ Mahesh Kodiyal and producer Subhash Dawar have reportedly jumped at the opportunity to have Tendulkar’s name associated with their film. Although Bhosle herself could have carried off the film, owing to the huge fan following she enjoys across all sections of the Indian population.
Bhosle and Tendulkar would make an interesting pair, with the sportsman being almost half the singer’s age, however it has been a request of the songstress to sing a duet with Sachin, an offer he might not refuse after all.
