Auto giant Ford is expected to launch its new compact sports utility vehicle known as the ‘Eco Sport’ for the Indian market by the end of June 2013. At present, the company is running a campaign to promote the upcoming product.
Sources familiar with the development said that the company will formally launch the EcoSport after the completion of the campaign in the Indian market. According to the new campaign, the company will select 100 customers who will get an opportunity to drive the vehicle and share their experiences. Joginder Singh, the Ford India President and Managing Director said that 100 customers will be selected by a jury and the participants had to upload their views about the vehicle, which will then be evaluated by a jury. The campaign will be held in 12 cities across the country, starting from Delhi and Mumbai.
The launch will be similar to a road show and the company has also opened the Ecosport Urban Hub to engage people. Singh added that consumers across all 12 cities will get an opportunity to drive and experience the EcoSport out in the open and share their product experience. Customers will get a choice of four trims with three engine options.
