Mobile manufacturer Sony is all set to launch its Xperia SP smartphone for the Indian market. The company is yet to divulge details on the release of the device in the country, but has given an approximate idea of what the phone will cost. The Xperia SP is slated to be priced at £339 in the UK and will soon hit online stores across India for Rs. 27,490.
Of late, high end smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One have redefined the segment with price tags higher than Rs. 40,000. However, the latest offering from Sony is a mid-range device.
The front side of the handset has a scratch-resistant TFT display measuring 4.6 inches diagonally. The Xperia SP has Bravia Engine 2 Technology under the hood and its screen has a visual resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by 1GB of RAM, with an onboard Qualcomm S4 Pro processor. It also boasts of visuals from Adreno 320 graphics. The other features of the device include an 8 megapixel Exmor RS camera with autofocus, LED flash and 16X digital zoom.
Users will also be given a choice to increase the overall storage space of the phone to 32GB, through a micro SD card.
