Indian auto giant Mahindra and Mahindra launched the entry level model, titled W4 of its popular SUV, the XUV500 for the Indian market. The new W4 model has been priced at Rs. 10.83 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The new W4 model of the company’s SUV features the mHawk 140 bhp engine. It also has a design inspired by cheetah, along with a range of technology, comfort and safety features. Pawan Goenka, the ED and president of Mahindra and Mahindra’s automotive and farm equipment sectors during the launch said, “With over 74,000 vehicles on the road within two years of launch, the XUV500 is one of our most successful launches. As a customer centric organisation, we have incorporated customer feedback at every step and evolved and today’s W4 model launch bears testimony to the same”.
Pawan Shah, the CE of automotive division said that since its launch in 2011, the XUV500 has managed to create a special niche for itself in the minds customers in India. Shah went on to say that the launch of the new W4 model will encourage more customers to become owners of the cheetah-inspired SUV.
The CE added that with the launch of the new model, the company aims to attract sedan and compact SUV owners who are looking to upgrade to the XUV500.
