Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia launched its 106 feature phone for the Indian market. The latest handset is available on the official online store for Rs. 1,399 and comes in red, black and white color options.
The company’s online store states that the 106 model will be delivered within 5 working days after booking the handset. The new Nokia 106 is a single SIM device and features 1.8-inch QVGA display with 128 X 160 pixels and has an 800 mAh battery. The device has a capacity to store 500 contacts and offers 32 polyphonic ringtones.
Additional features of the latest phone include FM radio and 3.5 mm audio jack. In August 2013, the company launched Nokia 106 and 107 handsets in China. In addition to that, the company expanded the Asha range phones with the launch of Asha 500 for Rs. 4,499, Asha 502 with a price tag of Rs. 5,969 and Asha 503 for Rs. 6,799. All three handsets are based on the company’s Asha platform with free messaging apps such as WhatsApp, which has become one of the most popular applications.
The new handset is best for people who are looking for a budget phone with basic and call-focused facilities. Apart from the smartphone segment, the company is also trying to capture the budget phone market.
