Asia Bizz: National Fruit of India Mango to Inspire Coca Cola’s fresh Juices

Mango being the National fruit of India has inspired Coca Cola to make healthier beverages, in the form of pure juices. With the increasing middle class population in India, companies like Coca Cola are now trying to woo the consumers towards healthier lifestyles.

Currently none of Coca Cola’s juice products are pure juices. The dominant companies which offer pure juices are Dabur’s Real Activ, Pepsico’s Tropicana and Parle Agro’s Saint. There is a tough competition among the multinational brands, over the Indian market who have a consumption period between 7 am and noon.

PepsiCo last year came up with ‘Tropicana’, which is a natural fruit juice product for India families and households. The campaign targeted the educated and the international minded middle class people.

Coca Cola now hopes to step forward towards converting the non branded drinkers with the dedicated division. The Indian traditional breakfast drink includes “Lassi”- made from yogurt and sugar, and spiced tea or coffee.
