Tokyo Disneyland reopens – Tokyo DisneySea park to reopen soon

Asia Bizz: Disneyland in Japan, in the city of Tokyo, has finally reopened after the earthquake and tsunami struck Japan on March 11. Tokyo Disneyland opened on the 16th of April and the main reason for this long delay was due to the shortage of power supply that was available.

The timings of Tokyo Disneyland will be from 8 am to 6pm, which is much shorter than the usually timing of the park. The Oriental Land Co. who owns the park, has decided to open the park as its also the parks 28th anniversary since its opening in the year 1983. The closing of the park will be at 6pm in order to save electricity.

The Tokyo DisneySea park is situated very close to Disneyland and reports state that it is also hoping to reopen soon. The company said that on every visitor, it will donate a fee of around 300 yen per visitor for relief measures for the people of Japan who have suffered from the earthquake and tsunami.

Japan is trying really hard to conserve some more energy as the country is facing energy crisis as a result of the devastating earthquake and tsunami, and continuous aftershocks which keep occurring in the region.

Dish Network Corp wins Blockbuster Inc auction for $320 million

Asia Bizz: Dish Network, which is the second largest satellite provider in the United States, won an auction bid to buy the bankrupt Blockbuster Inc for $350 million. Dish Network will look forward to expand its verticals by buying Blockbuster and moving into the movie rental chain.

Blockbuster Inc. was once upon a time the leader in video rentals across the United States and Charlie Ergen outbid at least 3 other bidders, which also included the likes of Carl Icahn – who is an activist investor.

Dish can now use Blockbusters online reach and could possibly start online products and deliver movies.

Recently, Dish also bought another bankrupt company by the name of DBSD North America, for around $1.4 billion. Dish will have to pay around $228 million in cash to get Blockbuster.

Tom Cullen, the executive vice president of sales said,

“Blockbuster will complement our existing video offerings while presenting cross-marketing and service extension opportunities for Dish Network.”

The second highest bid for Blockbuster was $310.6 million by Carl Icahn.

Asia Bizz: BHP Billiton All Set To Strengthen Its Bid Over Potash Corp, A Strong Move Against Rival Bidders

BHP Billiton is now strengthening its $39 billion bid over Potash corp, which is a significant move over its rival bidders. Billiton has stated that it is incurring a 50% jump in its revenue in the second half, and is a direct warning to its rivaling bidders for Potash Corp.

Billiton officials have said that their Balance Sheets and Cash Flow statements are showing very good signs of the company. They are looking straight ahead to acquire Potash. Potash Corp on the other hand had stated that they were also looking at alternative bidders and would also consider the options to get into a joint venture too.

Potash Chief Bill Doyle, has stated that they are expecting more than the price kept on the table, but for the moment they have not disclosed any price set by the other companies. Canada’s media has said that a potential bidder, Rio Tinto from Brazil is looking ahead for the acquisition along with a Chinese partner.

Pamela Anderson had a wardrobe malfunction when she was hosting a party on the New Year eve at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

Pamelaâ€™s white dress began to slip. But she didnâ€™t observe the malfunction until another star on the stage Adam Lambert pointed it out.

The actress was on stage for a count down the final minutes of 2009 when the wardrobe malfunction occurred.

The photo of Pam Anderson which you can see below, she is trying to keep Adamâ€™s hands away from her dress, and looks more comfortable with showing off her breasts than allowing Adam Lambert to get his hands on them.

This is not the first time that Pamela has suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she has famously said that she will strip until her last breath.

Aamir Khans much awaited film â€œ3 Idiotsâ€ will hit the screens on December 25, 2009

The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, and stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, and Boman Irani in lead roles.

Plot:-Loosely based on Chetan Bhagatâ€™s bestseller Five Point Someone, 3 Idiots takes the plot much beyond the campus, for universal appeal. The story starts a decade after the graduation of college buddies Farhan (R Madhavan) and Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) who get a clue on the whereabouts of their missing third friend Rancho (Aamir Khan). As they set out on a road trip from Delhi to Shimla to Manali to Ladakh to find their friend, the narrative cuts to and fro into flashbacks as we are introduced to the three idiots in an engineering college.

Rancho is different from anyone else in the college with his individualistic thought-process and rebellious attitude, which invites the ire of the college Dean (Boman Irani) and affection of his daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor).
