Asia Bizz: India’s Oil Minister Murli Deora Says Fuel Price Rise Is Minimal

As the Indian Parliament is boiling by the oppositions anger on the price rise issue, Oil Minister Murli Deora clearly made a statement that the burden on the consumers, in relation to the price rise in LPG is less than Rupee one per day and in kerosene is less than .50 paisa per day.

He said that the Indian government won’t be able to survive without being able to know what the people are undergoing; the price rise which the government has undertaken keeping in mind that it has relatively minimal impact on the peoples livelihood. He compared the LPG price rise against how long the LPG cylinder lasts in a normal household, stating that a rise of Rs.35 is less than a rupee burden on the public as the 14.2 Kg cylinder lasts for at least 30-35 days.

The price rise in the LPG was necessary as the production costs and the retail price difference was becoming unmanageable. International prices are also playing a big role in the fuel price hike.

Asia Bizz: New BP Chief Elected – New Oil Spill Reported On Kalamazoo River

As the new Chief elected by BP, Robert Dudley, took the oath of being the Chief on Tuesday,but oil workers in Michigan and Louisiana were fighting against two but minor oil spills.

Robert Dudley became the first non-Britisher to become the Chief of BP. However, the company has to curb with a cost of $32.2 billion during the oil spill, out of which BP claims that it would be seeking of a $9.9 Billion tax credit.

Out going BP chief, Tony Hayward, was asked about the tax credit issue, he stated that they are working as per the IRS regulations, as it is written by the IRS itself. Hayward is scheduled to leave the company by the 1st of October. Dudley who was overseeing the gulf relief operations has been elected to be the next Chief.

Hayward himself stated, that life isn’t just fair and that BP cannot move into US with him as the CEO. The White House had not been to impressed with his comment which he had made during the oil spill catastrophe.

An Enridge oil spill int the Kalamazoo river in southern Michigan has reportedly become a threat to the ecosystem and has even been named the worst oil spill in the mid-west.

Asia Bizz: North Korea May Threaten US-South Korea Naval Exercises Off South Korean Coast

South Korea and the US began a series of Naval exercises in the sea off the coast of South Korea, with the US Navy nuclear powered aircraft carrier moving out in the open seas. North Korea has warned that it would retaliate strongly against the US if it fears of any threatening situation against it.

This situation clearly reflects that tense situation between the two countries in the divided region of Korea, since 1953. The tensions took a new toll again in the month of May this year, when a South Korean naval ship was torpedoed and sunk. UN, US and investigators from all over the world came to the conclusion that North Korea sunk the ship.

Last week, South Korea and the US had placed a new set of sanctions on the North Koreans, which the North Koreans stated as unfair. North Korea has vowed that it will start a ‘Sacred War’ against the two nations “any time necessary”, or whenever they feel the situation is threatening to N.Korea. Resources also state that North Korea has put its people and the military on high alert, for the country may enter into a disturbing situation at any time.

Asia Bizz: Mass Grave With 50 Bodies Found in Nuevo Leon, Mexico

A grave, with as many as 50 bodies, was found by Mexican soldiers in the Northern State of Nuevo Leon. The police officials have found petrol traces and believe the spot might be used for victimizing people.

The investigation results claim that this area would have been used for torturing and killing of people by some drug gangs.
The police informed that information from an unknown source led them to this spot.

The probe by the Crime Scene Investigators is on. The bodies that were found were highly decomposed and hence could not be identified. They are searching for more bodies by digging the area more. Alejandro Garza, the Nuevo Leon State Attorney General informed that the investigating officials still have to find for three such pits more.

Two more such graves were found in Nuevo Leon, a battlefield for the rival drug gangs.

BBC reports that more than than 200 people have vanished in the border state in the past three years.

One of the BP engineers, Mike Williams, who was on board of the sunken Transocean Rig of BP, stated to the press that before the accident took place, one of the key arms of the rig had been intentionally disabled. He stated that the night of the 20th of April, an alarm had been triggered, and it was found that a flammable gas called methane had spread over the rig’s deck. The rig officials didn’t want to wake up the crew at three o’clock in the night.

Williams statement was shocking for on the 20th April, the rig caught fire. The Transocean rig was drilling a well a mile below the sea surface, and it was under the license of London based oil giant, BP. Williams also stated, that the rig had hundreds of individual alarms, which would go off intentionally to see if they were in good condition.

At a hearing before a joint US panel of US Coast Guards and The Internal Department Bureau Of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement, the Transocean officials who were on the rig that day stated that they were 43 days behind schedule in drilling the Macondo Well, which was due to mechanical problems faced on the rig.

Williams has filed a suit against Transocean, stating that the main monitoring computer called “A Chair”, used to be frequently offline due to mechanical issues. The officials had named it the ‘blue screen of death’, for it would often turn into a blue screen and would not show any data.

Some sources have also stated that the stay of Shahram Amiri, in the U.S. was a picture perfect plan made by the Iranian Intelligence agency.

To prove that Amiri had been with the CIA, he provided the proof of two CIA vehicles number plates. There has been no immediate response from the CIA on this topic. And in honor of Amiri, the Iranian film studio is about to make a movie which shows that Amiri was kidnapped by the U.S. officials. Amiri was a hero when had come back home.

Amiri had been issued $5 million in exchange of valuable information from Iran and its Nuclear program. These reports have been published by Iranian news agency Fars on Wednesday.

Asia Bizz: Two Indian Origin Brothers Die In US Plane Crash

It has been reported that there were two Indian brothers that have died in the US plane crash in Texas. One of them was a Pilot instructor, who died along with an American national on the plane.

The brothers were identified as Kartik Kalichelavan (22) and Pratik Kalichelavan (19), who have died in the crash which took place in a small town of Tolar, which is located some 45 miles south west of Forth Worth Texas.

Along with them, was an American national named Casey Brinegar, 26, who died in the crash. Pratik had been studying Dentistry in India, and had come to the US to visit his brother, and was scheduled to go back soon. Kartik and Casey were showing Pratik Texas from the sky, and they were flying a four seater single engine aircraft.

The crash occured during the landing, when the right wing of the plane hit the ground and then the plane nose dived and started to tumble and caught fire. Kartik and Casey died on the spot and Pratik was taken to the hospital by air where he later succumbed to his injuries. The cause of the plane crash is still under investigation.

In a freak and tragic incident at Central Railway Police Force Office, a drunk constable had allegedly opened fire on his colleagues in a camp, killing 6 of them on the spot. It was only before he was shot dead by the CPRF personel, when his killing stopped.

The incident occurred at the Sariakela district of Jharkhand last night. The constable named Harpinder Singh of the 196th Battalion of the CPRF, had started to open fire for no apparent reason over his colleagues at 10.00 pm last night. It was said that Harpinder was drunk on duty.

Harpinder had killed 6 of his colleagues, which include an assistant commander. The firing had lasted for four hours, when Harpinder was shot dead by the CPRF personnel at 02.00 hours.

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu has been arrested after he violated the prohibitory orders against him in Nanded district. He was arrested with accomplices, which included five MP’s and Seven MLA’s.

The Minister and his accomplices were in the Babhli village to inspect the ongoing irrigation project. He states that the barrage has been illegally built. Mr. Naidu had been warned not to travel to the Marathwada district of Nanded, or it may pose a disturbance in the law and order in the district.

The irrigation project concieves 8000 hecters of land in the Nanded district of Maharashtra, but still Naidu moved to the court against the project. After which two hearings were held in 2007, in which permission was given by the Supreme Court, to go ahead with the project.

Even though the Maharashtran government has spent 167 crores on the project, it looks ahead not to spoil its relations with its neighbour, Andhra Pradesh. But still after what Chandrababu had done in the past, his visit to Nanded seems to be illegal.
