China Renews Google’s License In The Country

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that it has renewed the Chinese license of Google, in it’s country. The confirmation announcement came on Friday last week.

Guxiang, the company which operates Google in China, was on the list of companies who were to renew their operational licenses. The government has made the approval after many changes were made by the website.

Reports say that the company’s official stated that Google abides with all the laws and regulations kept forward by the Chinese government, and has made sure it didn’t provide anything illegal in content as per the telecommunication laws of China. Google’s approval came after a months long ban faced by the company censorship in the country.

This move by China reflects that it has intentions to improve its relations with the west, and to look ahead to build a stronger US-China relationship.

Internet giant Google Inc. has introduced the much talked about Google TV on Thursday. This marks Google’s entry into the world of web-TV integration.

According to reports, Google TV will be run by Google’s Android operating system, and will permit users to search for content from their TV, DVR or the web.

According to reports: “The platform will let users search for content, from the name of a TV show to the name of a network, in much the same way a Google search works. They’ll get results from TV and the web and be able to watch either on their TV screen.” (CNN)

The Google project director Rishi Chandra has said that this will definitely go a long way and there are even reports that Google is reportedly trying to strike up a deal with Sony and Logitech, so that they can put Google TV in their digital products. Way to go Google!

Facebook took full control of display ads on the world most popular social networking website, cutting short an exclusive deal that had allowed Microsoft Corp to manage part of that business.

However, Microsoft — the exclusive provider of Web search on Facebook — will continue to sell text-based search ads on the website as the partners extended the arrangement beyond 2011, when it had been due to expire. Microsoft invested $240 million in Facebook for a 1.6 percent stake in the company in October 2007.

Facebook, which lets users connect and share information with friends online, has emerged as one of the Internet’’s most popular destinations and is increasingly challenging the Web’s established powerhouses like Yahoo Inc and Google Inc.

iCall, a service that allows for free calls on the computer and web, has come across an interesting revelation in the new iPhone/iPad, Apple has dropped the restriction that made it impossible to have VoIP calls over 3G.

‘Google Nexus One’ debuted but India has to wait

Internet search giant Google has launched its much-awaited mobile handset titled as Nexus One. Google will sell the phone through its Web store. However, it will currently be available only for US consumers.

“The Nexus One belongs in the emerging class of devices which we call ‘superphones,’ with the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon™ chipset making it as powerful as your laptop computer of three to four years ago. It’s our way to raise the bar on what’s possible when it comes to creating the best mobile experience for consumers,” said Andy Rubin, VP of Engineering. “We look forward to working with handset manufacturers and operators to bring more phones to market through this channel worldwide.” Google said the Web store would allow consumers to purchase the Nexus One without operator service or with service from T-Mobile USA. Google further said that it expects to add more operators, more devices and more countries in the future, including Verizon Wireless in the US and Vodafone in Europe.

The Nexus One ships immediately from Google’s online store for $179 with a two-year contract from Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile USA, or $529 without a service plan.
