A small group of Indian athletes have reportedly reached London for the upcoming 2012 Olympics. The group, including the Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, were reportedly comfortable at the Athletes Village in London.
The Deputy Chef de Mission Col. P.K MjuraliDharan Raja at the Games Village has received a ten member archery squad along with a four member weight lifting team including Bindra. The 81 athletes and 51 officials of the Indian contingent have been given accommodation in the Seaside Building named as Titan.
The accommodation has been planned according to two per room in the apartments which all the facilities which include television and Wi Fi internet. Even the main dining hall had a section for foods from India and Asia. It is expected to become operational in due course of time.
The movement of the athletes and officials to the training and competing venues through the transport mall was made easy. Till now the experience of the players has been great except for the cold wind and wet weather for which London is known for. The unpredictable weather of London has forced a minor warning to the future batches of athletes to be equipped with woollen, umbrellas and raincoats. The Sporting events is all set to begin on July 27, 2012.
