Chinese pharmaceutical company Harbin Pharmaceutical Group, which is a major pharmaceutical company in the Northeast China’s Heilongjiang, has decided to relocate one of its plants from downtown Harbin to the outskirts of the city. The decision was taken after a pollution scandal reported last year.

The construction on the new site of the company’s General Pharmaceutical Factory has begun at the Hulan Development Zone which is in the suburbs of the provincial capital. The construction of the project is expected to start in early July and is expected to be completed within 17 months. The GPF was established in the western Harbin in the 1960s and was originally a part of city’s outskirts.
