Search engine giant Google India displayed a colorful and creative Doodle 4 Google on its homepage on November 14, 2012. The specialty of the Doodle is that it is created by the winner of the Doodle 4 Google India 2012 contest. The winner of the contest is Arun Kumar Yadav, who is a class 9 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chandigarh, Punjab.

Contestants for the event included young and talented students in grades K-12, who designed doodles for the site’s home page. Every year the hosts of the competition provide a theme, on the basis of which students have to create a doodle, with the help of their creativity and imagination.

This year the search engine giant was looking for pictures which signify Unity in Diversity, including those that best reflect the different cultures and uniqueness of the country. This years gave theme for India is ‘A Prism of Multiplicity’.

In the month of October, the search engine had invited participants between the ages of 5 years to 6 years to design and create a logo and after much deliberation, the judges declared Arun Yadav as the national winner.

The category winners of the competition include Vasudevan Deepak from Devgiri Public School Calicut, Shravya Manjunathan from Mitra Academy Bangalore and S Preetham Paul from Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, TPT branch Vishakhapatnam.
