Asia Bizz: Chinese Passenger Jet C919 All Set To Take On Boeing And Airbus In The Aviation Industry

The Chinese Passenger jet, COMAC C919 is all set to take on Airbus and Boeing, in the field of aviation. COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation Of China) is building their first passenger airliner that will be capable enough to take on its rivals in the aviation sector. The Single aisle passenger plane is built solely by the state owned aircraft industry, and was unveiled at the Zhuhai air show in south China.

According to the officials, this plane will be directly competing against Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. COMAC has said that there are already 100 orders placed for this passenger plane from China and the US, the orders have come from Air China, China Southern, China Eastern and Hainan Airlines, as well as the U.S.-owned GE Capital Aviation Service.

By the end of 2020 the company aims to have sold around 2000 of C919’s across the globe, as it is said the be 20% cheaper than its rival aircrafts. It can accommodate around 156 passengers, and is 17 meters long and 5.6 meters tall.
