India wins the nail biting thriller by 3 runs. It is one of the spectacular match one can witness 825 runs in 100 overs and in the end India somehow manage to win just by three runs.


Full credit to Srilankan batsmen they didn’t lose the temperament and take head-on the mountains of runs pile by Indian batsmen. They batted superbly until the dismissal of Dilshan.

India’s best bowler of the day, Harbhajan Singh started the ball rolling in the host’s favour as he clean bowled Tilakratne Dilshan, Sri Lanka’s star of the day at a score of 160 runs. His fall brought down some jitters down the Lankan batting line-up as India seemed to regain their groove with two new batsmen on the crease. The result- Mahela Jayawardene got in the middle of a mix-up and was run out.

Zaheer Khan and Nehra Outstandingly at the death over, they held their nerves and bowled there heart out, this helps India to snatch a thrilling win.

Sachin Tendular at his best in the field, he took a great catch of the Mathews in nehra over and Kandamby runout by Sachin is the turning moment for India.

Virender Sehwag got the Man of the Match award for his 146 runs in 102 balls.

Second match of this series is on 18 Dec,2009 and its a day-night match which will start at 02:30 PM IST and it will be played on Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur.
