Asia Bizz: Sony Corp has partnered with Intersil Corp based out of California which makes microchips used in security surveillance cameras. Sony’s partnerships comes as the company is planning to make cameras with chips fitted with those that Intersil makes.


Sony also said that the chips fitted by Intersil will have great capabilities and it will transmit high-definition digital images via cable for images that are analog. This will enable the user to cut huge costs as surveillance cameras will have great high definition pictures.

Sony has partnered with Intersil Corporation as they are by far, the global leader in high performance analog semiconductors. Intersil is based out of Milpitas, California, United States.

Some of the products that Intesil makes are flat panel displays, General Purpose Proprietary Products (GPPP), optical storage, communication interfaces, data converters, digital potentiometers, among others.

The main feature of the cameras that Sony will focus on is to allow digital HD, as well as analog SD images over a single coaxial cable.
