Asia Bizz: The passengers in Tamil Nadu can now book tickets from the comfort of their home for the State Express Transport Corporation as well as other corporations in the state. Tickets for traveling in the SETC buses can now be booked through phone.

The online e-ticket facility was launched on Monday, October 3, 2011 by the chief minister of the state J Jayalalitha. SETC alone in the state operates more then 1,000 services and daily more than one lakh people travel by the buses of the state government.

For the e-payment for all the long distance buses, the Pallavan Transport Consultancy Services (PTCS) has created www.tnstc.com. The new system has been introduced as well as integrated with the already existing Online Ticket Reservation System in more than 56 centres across the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

The passengers can now book the tickets 30 days in advance from anywhere in the world. Just like the IRCTC services, the passengers can see the available seats online on the website and then book online tickets with the help master card, VISA, American Express or any other electronic cash mode that is approved by the Reserve Bank. Then tie-ups with the banks will be the responsibility of the contractor, who will be paid on the basis of each transaction.
