Asia Bizz: As the launch date of the new Skoda sedan fast approaches, the company has hopes that the new Rapid would also become a best seller in the Indian market. The Skoda rapid is due to be launched on November 19, 2011 in the Indian market.

Skoda has now aimed at a bigger share in the sedan market in India. The new Rapid has been designed keeping in view the needs of the Indian roads and its customers.

With the new interiors and innovative features, the Rapid is all set to woo Indian car lovers. To increase the sales of the car, the company will be offering diesel as well as petrol variants with a price enough to take away the competition from the other existing sedans in the market.

Thomas Kuehl, the Skoda Auto India Board member of the sales and marketing section, said that they are competing against Honda for the petrol variant of the Rapid, while they are competing with Hyundai for the diesel variant. Kuehl added that they hope that the car would made Skoda a more acceptable brand in India. Skoda, which is from the Volkswagen group was introduced in India a decade ago and since then has been introducing new cars regularly.
