Former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram has credited India’s Gautam Gambhir for Kolkata Knight Riders win in the IPL this year.

After the victory of the Kolkata Knight Riders at the 7th Indian Premiere League, bowling coach Wasim Akram said that Gautam Gambhir was the best among the IPL Captains this season. The bowling coach was all in awe of Gambhir’s leadership skills.

This the second time Sharukh Khan owned IPL franchise KKR has won.

Wasim on the official website of the IPL said, “It means a lot to the team when the skipper is performing well. It adds to the security and the self belief.’’ King XI Punjab were 199 for 4 in 20 overs but Gambhir was never nervous and constantly encouraged his players. Akram added that Gambhir with an aggressive mindset and his belief in his players, became the best captain in the tournament.

The Kolkata Knight Riders have become the second team after Chennai Super Kings to claim the IPL title twice. The former Pakistani player has given credit to the excellent team work for the result. Akram added that their job is to keep it simple and that they talk to the point and don’t have long meetings and try to keep the players relaxed.

During the early seasons, KKR had suffered four consecutive losses and was lying in the bottom half but has now come up with flying colours.
