Japan upset over pre-mature exit from FIFA 2014.
Japanese FIFA fans reacted with anger and sadness on June 25, 2014 as they saw the Japanese team exit the FIFA World Cup 2014 championship. The Japanese football team – Blue Samurai – was defeated by Colombia in a score of 4-1.
Some of the fans said that it was a game which seemed like boys playing against men. Another said that the Colombian team were so quick and fast that the Japanese players just could not match their steps.
The Japanese team managed to pick up just one goal in Brazil. The Japanese government expressed their disappointment over the pre-mature elimination of the team from the tournament.
Yoshihide Suga, the chief cabinet secretary said that it is a huge disappointment and added, “My predictions were way off. Italy and England also went out. I’d like to say thank you to the Japan players and coaching staff.”
After Colombia upped their game in the second half, Japanese supporters were absolutely silenced, crushing Japan’s hope of advancing into the knockout stage.
The last nail in the coffin was Colombia’s fourth goal, after which Japan’s player and supporters knew that doom had been spelled out for them.
