Indian superstar Salman Khan has been convicted by an Indian court for culpable homicide in the 2002 hit-n-run case incident in Mumbai on May 6, 2015. The ‘Dabangg’ actor has been convicted to kill a homeless man and seriously injuring four others in the incident.

The actor can face up to ten years of imprisonment and the final sentence will be announced on May 7, 2015. As soon as the hearing began, the judge told Salman, “You were driving the car; you were under the influence of alcohol”. Salman had earlier denied of not driving the car at the time of the accident.

On the other hand legal experts have opined that the ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ actor can appeal against the verdict and the case is likely to go for many years to come. The latest verdict is a big setback for the actor who is today considered as one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. Khan was accompanied by family members and friends in the court and many of his fans prayed for his acquittal.

The defence has appealed that Salman should not face imprisonment more than two years considering his numerous charity work in recent years. If the actor is imprisoned, it can affect many big Bollywood projects that he is involved at present.
