Asia Bizz: In the past couple of years, Indian based cellphone manufacturers have started to make a strong presence in the country, and this a dire threat to the existing foreign brands. Three Indian mobile companies have created havoc for other manufacturers in the market, and these are Micromax Mobiles, Karbonn Mobiles and Lava Mobiles.

Micromax and Lava are two manufacturers who are consistently rising and gaining fame in India. They are manufacturing cellphones in comparison with Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG, who were dominating the Indian cellphone market. It has been predicted that domestic cellphone manufacturers will overtake the foreign based brands in India, and this is a point of worry to many multinational companies.

In the current assessment year, Micromax is ranked three in the Indian market, in terms of shipment. Today the Indian based cellphone companies do not have a domestic market only, but they are shipping phones to South East Asia as well as to the West. Comparatively, Indian mobile brands are cheaper and of better quality compared to foreign brands today, which is the reason for the steady growth of these brands.
