Asia Bizz: While the major mobile phone manufacturers are increasing the prices of their handsets, G’Five has announced on January 3, 2011 that it will be slashing the prices of all products between 10 to 30 percent. In recent times, a trend has been seen among the companies who are hiking the prices of the mobile phones due to the depreciating rupee.

Arshit Pathak, the Managing Director of Kingtech Electronics, said that G’Five is one of the biggest manufacturer of mobile handsets in China. Pathak added that unlike the other companies, they do not buy from a third party.

The managing director also stated that the depreciating value of money has affected the margin, but slashing the prices will probably help in increasing the sales of the handsets. The company assured that the prices of all the handsets have been reduced and the lowest price model is below Rs. 1000, while the high-end model of the company is in the range of Rs. 4,500.

It was further revealed that even the low-end mobile phones have a 1.8 megapixel camera, music player and other phone features. The high phone is a projector phone which was earlier priced at Rs. 6,000. Pathak also said that the sales of the handset reflects the addition of the new subscribers.
