Asia Bizz: On February 16, 2012, NTT DoCoM announced two of its Android mobile devices- the Docomo NEXT series Aquos SH-06D smartphone and the Medias Tab N-06D tablet – that will be compatible with V-High multimedia broadcasting service in Japan.
The devices are Japan’s first ever to be compatible with V High multimedia broadcasting service. The smartphone and the tablet will be put on sale in Japan in the month of March and April respectively.
The users of the new devices will be able to access mmbi, Inc’s NOTTV, which is a mobile multimedia broadcasting station that will become operational on April 1, 2012. The best part is that the SH-06D smartphone is water-proof and features a 4.5-inch high definition glass less 3D display.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and comes with a tabletop holder equipped with a built in antenna which enables the viewing of multimedia broadcasts when the device is charging in the holder. The smartphone is also compatible with Osaifu-Keitai mobile- wallet services of Docomo and can also receive existing ‘One seg’ mobile TV. The new N-6D is the world’s thinnest waterproof tablet and is compatible to Xi LTE service of Docomo.
