Asia Bizz: In some good news for all those who have been eagerly waiting for the Android 4.0 update, the 10-inch Acer Iconia A500 will soon get the Ace Cream Sandwich update by April 2012. The Acer tablet PC currently runs on the 3.x Android.
The Taiwan-based company confirmed the new through their official Twitter account. The company tweeted, “To all Acer Iconia Tab A500 and A100 users, please expect an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in mid-April! Thank you for your patience,”.
Some of the earlier reports claimed that the A500 will not get the update, but the rumors have now been officially denied. The Acer tablet is perfectly capable of the update and the device will be getting its share by April 2012.
In India, the price of the Acer A500 is around Rs 29,000. The A500 is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor along with HD optimized graphics and 1GB DDR2 RAM. The other features of the tablet include 10. 1-inch screen , 5 megapixel rear camera and Wi Fi.
Acer will also be launching its Acer Iconia A200 tablet in the Indian market in the month of March 2012. The A 200 will come with the Android 4.0 and Nvidia Tegra dual core processor.
