Asia Bizz: India’s state-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) launched three tablets with attractive data plans for the Indian market on February 24, 2012. BSNL assured that all the tablets will come with bundled data plan of 5 GB for 60 days.
BSNL states that cutomers can also make a recharge for Rs 750 to get the same offer. The special offer from BSNL will be available to subscribers till May 31, 2012.
The tablet PCs have been manufactured by Noida-based company, Pantel Technologies Private Limited and have been priced between Rs 3,499 and Rs 13,000. The entry level tablet is known as the Penta IS70R which is priced at Rs 3,499, while the two mid-range tablets with 7-inch and 8-inch displays have been priced at RS 10,499 and Rs 13,500 respectively.
All the tablets will be available at BSNL outlets and retail stores across the country from March 1, 2012. The managing director of Pantel Technologies, Virendra Singh said that they are also in talks with MTNL for providing the tablets at a discounted data plans for the consumers in Delhi and Mumbai. The chief managing director of BSNL, RK Upadhyay said that BSNL and Pantel Technologies have come together to offer an attractive plan with exciting feature rich range of tablets.
