Asia Bizz: In the popular case of hosting objectionable content in which 21 social networking sites have been accused, Facebook has kept their side of explanation. The social networking site, who is one of the accused in the case in Indiam said in one of the appeals made to the trial court in Delhi that they are not responsible for the content uploaded by the users.
The popular social networking site added that their name must be removed from the accusation list. Facebook explained that it is not responsible for the content that is posted by the users that may appear on the website.
The representatives of the social networking site added that it is being wrongly prosecuted under the incorrect description of Facebook and stated that it correct addressal is ‘Facebook India Online Services Pvt Ltd’. Facebook India also explained that it did not control or operate the servers which host the Facebook.com website located in the US Facebook India.
The statement from the website further added that the objectionable content lawsuit that has been filed against it is deliberate and has been done with ulterior motives. It also added that the present suit is a gross abuse of the process of law and filled with ulterior motive of publicity and causing harassment.
