Asia Bizz: Indian motor giant Tata Motors plans to make a car that can deliver up to 100 kilometers per litre. The company is planning to bring Tata Megapixel with the help of the unique combination of technology.

Fuel consumption has become a vital factor at a time when the fuel prices are reaching the sky. Earlier the company had surprised the world by introducing the Nano, which was priced at just Rs 1 lakh.

On March 6, 2012, Tata Motors unveiled the concept of the vehicle which will be a four seater global range extended electric vehicle meant for driving in the city. The new innovation from Tata is expected to be launched around three years from now.

Ratan Tata, the Tata Group chairman, after unveiling the car at the Geneva Motor show, said that realistically such products take at least three years to develop. Tata added that there is a lot of electric technology to be developed besides many other things. The new vehicle also comes with a lithium ion phosphate battery along with an onboard petrol engine generator so that drivers can also recharge on the move. The company also claimed that Tata Megapixel will offer up to 900 kms with a single tank of fuel.
