Asia Bizz: South Korean car making giant Hyundai has unveiled the first images of its Indian bound premium hatchback the i20. The images of the new i20 were revealed ahead of the premier at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The new i20 has the same fludic sculpture design which is also carried by other Hyundai cars. Reports say that the new i20 will have a new engine option for the European market which will be a 1.1 litre 3 cylinder U-II diesel engine that will be merged with the Hyundai’s Blue Drive Technology.

Meanwhile, India has to wait for the new blue drive technology, but the new look i20 will soon be arriving in the Indian market. The new i20 has a more contemporary front profile that has been designed by Hyundai’s design studio in Europe.

The rear portion of the car also has a new look and the rest of the dimensions of the new i20 will remain the same. The Senior Vice president and chief operating officer of Hyundai Motor Europe, Allan Rushforth, said that the new i20 has been very popular with the European buyers since it arrived in the year 2009, due to the great combination of quality, efficiency, practicality and value. Rushforth has claimed that the i20 has the lowest CO2 emissions for a conventional powertrain.
