Asia Bizz: Japanese motor giant Mitsubishi has launched its new Outlander Sport 2012 for the Indian market on March 16, 2012. The new model is visually identical to the 2011 model and the automakers have strengthened the roof of the Outlander due to which the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named it the Top Safety Pick.
The 2012 Outlander is the first seven-seater and comes with a starting price of Rs 19.95 lakhs Ex-showroom New Delhi. The new version is one lakh cheaper than the outgoing 5 seater predecessor.
Some of the exciting features of the new Outlander include the steering wheel mounted audio and cruise control, HID head lamps with AFS function, keyless entry, adjustable head rests, seat belt anchor and leather seats with seat heater. The other features include a remote-operated side mirrors, 2 speed variable intermittent windshield viper and washer system along with headlamp washer and automatic headlamp leveling device.
Inside the cabin, there is a built-in multi-information display unit, power steering with tilt adjustable steering column, 4 way power driver seat and warm and cool upper glove box. The new Outlander features 6 speed auto transmission figures with a fuel efficiency of 103 kmpl. The company also offers five speed manual and CVT.
