Asia Bizz: Popular Hang Seng Bank, which is considered as one of the largest banks in Hong Kong, will soon be opening additional branches on the mainland. Dorothy Kwan, the Hang Seng Bank China Vice Chairman and Executive said that the bank won local regulators approval to set up five additional sub-branches in the cities of Shunde, Jiangmen and Zhuhai in the Guangdong province.

Branches will also be opened in Beijing and Tianjin this year. Kwan added that the opening of the Xiamen branch marks a strategic step in their mainland layout as Xiamen is a key city located at the West Coast Economic Zone, which connects both the Yangtze and Pearl River Deltas.

Hang Seng China operates 40 branches and sub-branches across 15 mainland cities and employs over 1,800 staff.
