Asia Bizz: French auto giant Renault launched its new diesel variant of its premium sedan Fluence on April 3, 2012 in the Indian market. The new sedan Fluence has been priced at Rs 15.2 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
Marc Nassif, the Renault India Managing director said that Fluence was the first offering from Renault India and the upgraded variant will reflect the company’s commitment to the Indian market.
The new Fluence will be powered by a 1.5 litre diesel engine and will deliver an average of 20.4 KMPL. With the launch of the new Fluence diesel, the vehicle will compete with other vehicles in the Indian market like Toyota Corolla diesel, Skoda Laura and Volkwagen Jetta.
The Fluence was launched in the Indian market in the year 2011 and the launch was followed by two more cars which included Koleos and compact car Pulse. While talking about the target, Nassif revealed that it aims to sell a total of 30,000 cars in the Indian market this year compared to 1,500 units in the year 2011.
In order to boost the sales, the company is also expanding its dealership network from 43 to 100 by the year 2012.
