Asia Bizz: Indian mobile phone maker Micromax might not be a popular brand globally, but it has constantly made its mark in the Indian market by introducing innovative mobile phones and gadgets. The company has been a trendsetter when it comes to launching the first dual SIM mobile phone in the market and it is well-known to be the brand that introduced the first long battery life mobile phones.
The phone maker is all set to create another landmark by creating one of its trademark trendsetting technology. Rahul Sharma, the Co-founder and executive director of Micromax, stated that the company has always been at the forefront of innovation and it will introduce a mobile phone with a solar charging panel, which none of its rivals has done till date.
Sharma said that with the help of this technology, they hope to get rid of mobile chargers. The company added that the solar charger will top up the charge in just three hours and will support 1.5 hours of talk time.
The handset is yet to be named, but Sharma stated that the new mobile phone will not be a smartphone but will be a feature phone. No further details of the new smartphone have been revealed to the press.
