Asia Bizz: Indian mobile telecom operator Idea Cellular has recently denied that it has increased the mobile tariffs in the states of the Asian country. Some of the earlier reports claimed that the company increased the fares of the mobile tariffs in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

Rajat Mukerji , the chief corporate affairs officer of Idea Cellular said at a press conference that were no change in the tariffs as reported by the media recently and that the reports are not true. Some of the media reports claimed that Idea Cellular had hiked the tariffs of its prepaid customers in the state of Madhya Pradesh as well as Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh to 1.3 paisa per second to 1.2 paisa per second.

Other operators clarified that they do not have any intention to increase tariffs in near future. Last year, many of the telecom companies like Idea, Tata Docomo, Airtel and Vodafone revised their tariffs from 1 paisa per second to 1.2 paise per second.

But since then there has been no change in the tariffs. But Vodafone increased the price for postpaid customers in the month of January, which made it in the line of Prepaid tariffs.
