Asia Bizz: Japanese auto giant Mazda Motor Corp has launched an upgraded version of Mazda Demio for the compact car segment on April 6, 2012, in addition to the Mazda Premacy minivan. The new versions of these two models have been launched in the Japanese market.

The Mazda Demio was known for its features and model grade system, while the 12 SKY-ACTIV model was popular for its fuel-efficiency. The 13 SKY ACTIV will get full reduction on vehicle acquisition and vehicle weight taxes under the new eco-car tax reduction program of Japan -which is effective from May.

The new Mazda Premacy model includes some new and enhanced safety features, while some of the models are also eligible for the new eco-tax reduction program. The new 13 SKY ACTIV features a 60:40 split rear seat, seat lifter for the driver’s seat and three point seat belt for the second row centre seat. Even the aluminum wheels are available at an optional feature.

The special edition Mazda Demio 13C- V Smart Edition has also been included in the Demio’s line up as a new model upgrade. The special vehicle of the car was launched on March 1, 2012.
