The much awaited Android 4.0 updates has been rolled out by Sony Mobile India, for the selected devices in the country. The devices which will be receiving the update include Neo V, Arc S and Ray from the Xperia series of the company.
However, the users of the mobile phones will have to use the Sony bridge, PC companion for MAC on their personal computers so as to upgrade their devices. Sony has become the second manufacturer to begin the Ice Cream Sandwich update process for the smartphines in the country.
The Android 4.0 updates was earlier released for the Nexus S phone. Meanwhile, many of the Android users in the country are still waiting for the updates.
The owners of the popular smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note and Motorola Razr are among those who are still waiting for the Android 4.0 update. With the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Xperia Phones, it brings a new lock screen, resizable widget, face unlock, smart dialer, new task switcher and performance improvements. The other smartphones in the Xperia series like the Xperia Play, Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo, Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia active and the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will be getting their 4.0 update by the end of the month of May or early June.
