German auto manufacturing giant Mercedes Benz is all set to launch its new M-Class in the month of May in the Indian market. The price of the new M-Class is expected to be costlier by Rs. 15 lakhs with a probable price tag of Rs. 69 Lakh, ex-showroom price.
The new M-Class will be introduced with an increased price tag after the taxes have been increased post the 2012 Union Budget. Just the engine of the vehicle will be assembled locally by Force Motors.
The new ML 350 CDI will be the first one to be launched, while the other engine options will be available to the customers later this year. The new M-Class by the company will have a 3.5 litre diesel engine which will churn out 259 PS of power and 619 nm of torque with 7G tronic automatic transmission, start/stop, permanent all wheel drive system and an optional six stage on/off road package.
The new M-Class SUV is 15mm wider and 23 mm wider than the older version . The new vehicle will also have a revised suspension along with a revoked chassis, while the pronounced wheel arches and other exterior details add to the appeal of the vehicle.
