German automobile company Volkswagen Group is now the official importer of Porsche cars in the Indian market. Looking at the positive response from the customers in the Porsche India range, the parent company has been appointed as the official importer.

The Zuffenhausen based manufacturer, has delivered a total of 1,052 units to the customers in India since the year 2004. Out of this 85 percent of the vehicles are the Cayenne SYV models.

Anil Reddy the head of Porche division at Volkswagen Group Sales said, “Building on the growing success of Porsche in India isn’t a challenge; it’s something we are looking forward to embracing with pride. The India clientele expect a lot from their vehicles, and they will find Porsche not only meets, but exceeds their expectations. I am confident that with our dedicated professional team, we will take Porsche’s presence in India to the next level”. The first highlight of the tie up of the companies will be marked with the launch of the new generation 911 Carrera and Panamera Diesel.

The new 911 is priced at Rs. 96.97 lakh ex showroom price Delhi, which can churn out 354.8 PS of power with peak torque of 390 Nm @ 5,600rpm. After the Volkswagen Group has become the official importer of Porsche, the sports car company is also looking forward to increase its dealership in the country.
