In some disappointing news for the Indians who were waiting for the launch of the Galaxy Nexus in the country, the company said that the smartphone will not be launched in the Indian market. Samsung in a Tweet reply said, “The Galaxy nexus will not be launched in India”.
This is for the first time the South Korean company has officially denied the launch of the Galaxy Nexus in the Indian market. The Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to run on Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich .
The smartphone was unveiled by Samsung as well as Google at an event in Hong Kong in the year 2011. The announcement that the company will not be launching the Galaxy Nexus in India comes as a shock and that too through a Tweet reply.
Indian market is usually considered as one of the most lucrative markets in the world and it seems like the company is not taking its Indian customers too seriously. Such a major information should have been shared by the company officially and not when it was asked by people. Till now Samsung has not yet given any particular explanation on the matter and there does not seem any logical reason behind the withdrawal of the handset from the market.
