Smartphone manufacturing giant Research In Motion (RIM), is all set to launch 15 BlackBerry Premium stores across India by the end of this year. The move will be taken by the smartphone maker so as to expand its presence in the market.

On May 11, 2012 RIM launched a store in Gurgaon after it opened another store in Delhi. Sunil Dutt, the managing Director of RIM India said, “We will be launching almost 10 to 15 BlackBerry premium stores by the end of the year covering all the top metros including Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bangalore”.

Dutt added that the store will offer a holistic experience to the customers as well as the enterprise service. The stores of BlacbBerry will be featuring special zones which will feature consumer and enterprise applications along with product service as well as a demo zone which highlights the qualities of the BlackBerry Smartphones.

RIM has about 5,000 retail points across the country. Earlier this year the company in order to be in the competition slashed the prices of some of its handsets by about 26 percent. Even in the month of December last year, the company slashed the price of its PlayBook by more than half.
