On May 12, 2012 a Delhi based businessman died on the spot after he was hit by a private plane which met with an accident. The accident of the micro light private plane took place at the Partapur airstrip in Meerut.

The pilot and his colleague escaped unhurt. Yogesh Garg was hit by the wing of the private plane, when he was trying to click pictures of the aircraft while it was trying to take off. The police revealed that Yogesh, who runs a consultancy company in New Delhi died on the spot.

The spokesperson of Pankh Aviation, Anil Thapa said that the wing and the wheel of the plane was damaged in the accident but the pilot, Anil Gupta escaped and his colleague escaped the incident. Eye witnesses said that Garg came on the airstrip to take the pictures of the plane while it was taking off from the runway.

The police is now trying to find out, who allowed Garg on the runway to take pictures. Neeraj Shukla, the Additional District Magistrate, reached the spot and said that the preliminary inquiry revealed that Pankh Aviation was not allowed to use the airstrip, but the company claimed that it has been giving flying training from the past three to four months.
