The Indian market has a few handsets which are specifically designed for the elderly like the iBall Ashaan and Intex Vision. Now a Swedish company, Doro has launched a new Android phone which has the most simple interface, specifically for the elderly people.
But unfortunately it is not yet available in the Indian market. The Doro is designing telecom products especially for the seniors. The new phone is called the PhoneEasy 740 and the Doro Experience tablet software will soon be launched in the US.
The new phone could be an ideal gift for the mothers, on Mothers Day, especially those who are not so tech savvy. The Doro 740 comes with a skinned version of the Android 2.3 and has the most simple user interface and has big buttons as well as simple apps placed on the top.
The best part is that the phone is well placed with the terms of the hardware and has a touch screen with 3G, Wi Fi, Micro SD slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and 5 mega pixel camera. There are also many elder friendly apps like the magnifying glass , a powerful speaker and also a configurable panic button on the back. But it seems like the users in India has to wait a bit longer.
