Contrary to the recent reports, the upcoming handset from Nokia, PureView 808 will be costing much more than is predicted. On May 14, 2012 the internet was filled with the reports that the new 41 mega pixel camera phone is expected to come with a price tag of Rs. 29,999 in the Indian market.

But some of the recent reports have claimed that all those reports are just rumours and the upcoming smartphone is expected to be priced much higher than expected. The Finnish company released an official statement and denied the rumours.

The spokesperson from the company said, “We outsource certain chores, and for that we have to give price related information. So, in such cases, we furnish a dummy price, and not the actual (true) price. In this case also (the one mentioned in the source code), Rs 29,999 is a dummy price and the 808 Pureview will not be available for this price”. Moreover, India will not be the first market in the world to get the PureView 808.

The new smartphone is a result of years of research and will sport a high resolution 41 megapixel sensor camera, which is powered by high performance Carl Zeiss optics along with new pixel 0versampling technology.
