Indian auto giant Mahindra and Mahindra has on May 15, launched the air conditioned version of its jeep Thar in the four wheel drive segment. The new air conditioned Thar has been priced at Rs. 6.75 lakh.

The company had till now refrained from fitting an air conditioner in an off-roader jeep. Vivek Nayar, the senior marketing vice-president of the company said, that M&M decided to install it after the customer feedback, where people felt the necessity of an air conditioner in a jeep.

The new model has been priced from Rs. 6.75 lakh and upwards and the model is Bharat Stage IV compliant. The Thar has been fitted with a factory fitted air conditioner/heater which will help in handling the harsh summer as well as the biting winter of the country.

The jeep will also come with a digital immobiliser, which will be an added safety feature on the A/C trim version. During the launch M&M also unveiled the Thar Expedition, which is a customised version of the AC Thar which can withstand in almost any terrain. The off-road spec model boasts specialized fittings like the custom made front bulbar, rock sliders, expedition carrier, roll cage and integrated electric winch.
