Japanese electronics manufacturing giant Mitsubishi Electric Corp has on May 24, 2012 announced that it has been chosen by Volvo Car Corp as a partner. Mitsubishi has been chosen to develop next generation infotainment systems for all Volvo vehicles which will be launched from November 2013 onwards.
Mitsubishi has been supplying Volvo with car audios, navigation systems and other infotainment equipment systems, since the year 1969. The company has been a reliable supplier in terms of technological capabilities and a history of developing strong solutions.
Yutaka Ohashi, the Group President of Mitsubishi Electric’s automotive equipment said, “We are looking forward to further cooperation with Volvo. As we expand our partnership, we look forward to developing advanced infotainment systems that offer Volvo car owners highly intuitive access to information and entertainment.”
Even Stefan Jacoby the president and CEO of Volvo car corporation expressed that they were very happy to have joined hands with Mitsubishi and that the world leading knowledge and experience will bring the infotainment system in the cars up to an entirely new level. Jacoby also said that they design cars according to the people’s needs and lifestyle and Mitsubishi has been one of their suppliers for more than 40 years.
