Tata Motors is always known for its innovative products in the market. The company is now developing an electric car which is expected to be priced below USD 20,000 (more than Rs. 10 lakh) in partnership with France based Dassault Systemes.
The engineering services outsourcing and product development IT services arm of the group, Tata Technologies has completed its first feasibility study of the electric vehicle Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Kevin Fisher the president of Tata Technologies in a statement said that they are working with the French firm to “leverage the talents of a global engineering team to meet numerous design and cost constraints, as well as create the targeted user experience, including a final vehicle price tag of under USD 20,000.”
But the statement did not reveal the other details like when the vehicle is likely to be launched or how much the company will be investing to develop the product. Tata group with Dassault Systemes’ Technologies had completed its first electric Mobility study that demonstrates the feasibility of developing an electric vehicle at an attractive price.
The development of the electric mobility is a global effort requiring the collaboration among over 300 Tata Technologies engineers from different places, which includes India, Europe and the US.
