Asia Bizz: Telecom operator and data provider Tata Docomo has announced a huge 60% reduction in its tariffs for wireless Internet service under the Tata Photon Plus brand on June 29, 2012. The tariff cuts have been announced for both post-paid and pre-paid subscribers along with cash back offers.
According to the new plan, postpaid customers have a choice to take their pick from unlimited 16GB usage for just Rs. 950 rental or unlimited 11GB for just Rs. 1,200. The company, in a statement, said that both the unlimited plans offer a cash back of Rs. 100 for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Meanwhile, the entry level packs are reported to cost Rs. 250 and it offers 1 GB of data download compared to Rs. 650 earlier. Even the Rs. 450 pack, which was earlier priced at Rs. 750, will now offer 2GB. Moreover, for the first time the company has offered reload packs for the postpaid customers with 1GB data download at Rs. 200 and 2GB at Rs. 350.
The prepaid customers can get unlimited 2GB usage on recharge of Rs. 700. Gurinder Singh Sandhu, the marketing head of the company while announcing the offers said, “we continue to deliver on our promise to provide value for money plans that suit the various needs of our customers.”
The price cut by Tata Photon has been announced with reference to the rising competition among tele companies.
