Opening batsman Virendra Sehwag and pacer Zaheer Khan are fit once again and are all set to return to the Indian squad after they were missing from the Asia Cup. The selectors took the decision to being the players back in a meeting held in July 2, 2012.
Sehwag and Zaheer will be back for the upcoming cricket tour of Sri Lanka. Apart from the duo, Umesh Yadav also had to sit out of the Asia Cup held in Bangladesh in the month of March in the grounds of fitness.
Moreover, they were also not a part of the one-off Twenty-20 International in South Africa on March 30 . It was also India’s last International engagement. Now as Sehwag is back, one of the other middle order batsman from the Asia Cup will have to be given up.
There are chances that Manoj Tiwari could be the man to make way for Sehwag’s return. On the other hand it is still not clear of Sachin Tendulkar will be available for the Sri Lanka Tour. Tendulkar has in recent times made a fantabulous record of 100 international hundreds in the earlier 50-over match. In case, Tendulkar opts to remain out of the series, then Ajinkya Rahane might be the man to be named as the third opener after Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir.
